Hex-mesh constitutes a hexagonal cellular grating that is intended
for reinforcing lining and flooring. When used, it keeps cement or
refractory in place and reduces pressure in the topmost layer of
the lining, doing away with fissures and breaking. Moreover,
hex-mesh is powerful enough to thwart abrasion, corrosion and
prolonged exposure to hot gases, as the metal cellular grid
reflects such substances away from the surface, augmenting the
enduring capacity of the refractory.
