Functional Overview The 3500/23E Transient Data Interface (TDI) serves as the primary
communication and data interface between the 3500 ENCORE™ Machinery
Protection and Monitoring System and GE System 1™ condition
monitoring and diagnostic software. System Operation Installed in the System Monitor slot of a 3500 ENCORE rack, the TDI
operates in conjunction with 3500/42E vibration monitoring modules. ➢Steady-state waveform data ➢Transient and dynamic waveform data Collected data is transmitted in real time to the host system via an Ethernet communication link for analysis and diagnostics within System 1 software. The TDI incorporates enhanced communication processor functionality directly within the 3500 ENCORE rack architecture, offering improvements over previous-generation communication processors. Key communication features include: ①Access to all monitored values and system statuses within the rack ②Seamless integration with process control systems (DCS/PLC) and other automation platforms ③Support for serial communication protocols: ➢RS-232 ➢RS-422 ➢RS-485 These capabilities allow the TDI to function as a centralized data gateway for machinery condition information.
