Product Introduction of Annular BOP Packing Element
As the core sealing component of annular blowout preventers in
drilling and production operations, the structural design and
material selection of the annular BOP packing element directly
determine the sealing reliability and working condition
adaptability of the blowout preventer. According to the structural
differences of compatible equipment models, the products are mainly
divided into two series: spherical packing elements and conical
packing elements. Among them, the spherical packing element is
tailor-made for the Shaffer series annular BOPs, while the conical
packing element is precisely compatible with the Hydril series
annular BOPs, ensuring perfect compatibility with the equipment and
efficient collaborative operation.
Key Specifications
- Temperature Grade: The product adopts strict temperature grade standards, with the
core implementing the BGB-level temperature resistance
specification. The applicable ambient temperature range is -18℃ to
93℃, which can stably cope with temperature fluctuations in
different regions and seasons during drilling operations, ensuring
that the sealing performance does not degrade under extreme
temperature conditions.
- Materials: Two professional options are available:
- Natural Rubber (red): Suitable for water-based mud drilling environments, featuring
excellent hydrophilicity, elastic recovery, and wear resistance.
- Nitrile Rubber (blue): Designed for oil-based mud drilling conditions, possessing
outstanding oil resistance, solvent resistance, and anti-aging
capabilities. It can effectively resist the erosion of oil-based
media on the packing element and extend the service life.
Through the combination of precise structural design and
high-quality rubber materials, this series of packing elements
achieves tight sealing of drill pipes, casing pipes and other
tubular products. Meanwhile, it has good extrusion resistance and
tear resistance, and can withstand high-pressure impacts during
