Description:

The thermostat controls the coolant circulation path by the expansion and contraction of wax inside it.

Specifically, when the coolant temperature is low, the wax remains solid, and the thermostat valve closes, allowing the coolant to circulate in a small loop within the engine to help it warm up quickly. As the coolant temperature rises to a certain point (typically above 80°C), the wax gradually melts and turns into a liquid, expanding in volume to push open the thermostat valve. At this stage, the coolant flows through the radiator in a large loop, enabling effective heat dissipation. At moderate temperatures, both large and small loops may occur simultaneously to meet the engine's varying cooling needs.
