1.Product Introduction Rotary drum dryer


The Rotary Drum Dryer is a continuous drying system based on an inclined rotating cylinder structure. Its core principle involves using the rotation of the drum and internal lifting flights (paddles) to repeatedly lift and shower wet materials, creating a "material curtain." This ensures maximum contact between the material and the high-temperature hot air, facilitating heat and mass transfer to evaporate moisture.



2.Application Rotary drum dryer


In addition to molybdenum concentrates, this equipment is widely used for the dehydration of various metal concentrates, including:

  • Sulfide Concentrates: Copper, lead, zinc, nickel, cobalt, etc.

  • Precious Metal Concentrates: Gold, silver, etc.

  • Rare Metal Minerals: Tin, tantalum, niobium, titanium, etc.


3.Working Principle Rotary drum dryer


The main body of the rotary dryer consists of a metal cylinder set at a slight incline (typically 1°–5°) rotating at low speeds (3–25 rpm). The process flow is as follows:

  1. Feeding: Wet molybdenum concentrate is continuously fed into the higher end of the drum via a feeding device.

  2. Agitation: Lifting flights on the internal walls scoop up and shower the material as the drum rotates, forming a uniform "material curtain."

  3. Heat Exchange: High-temperature hot air enters the drum in either a co-current or counter-current flow, making full contact with the falling material to transfer heat and evaporate moisture.

  4. Conveyance: The material moves slowly toward the discharge end, passing through pre-heating, evaporation, and cooling stages.

  5. Discharge & Filtration: The dried material is discharged from the lower end, while exhaust gases are purified through a dust collection system before being released.

  • High-Moisture Handling: Capable of drying high-humidity molybdenum concentrates from an initial moisture content of 16%–20% down to 5%–15% in a single pass, meeting the requirements for downstream roasting processes.

  • High Level of Automation: Equipped with variable frequency drives (VFD), real-time temperature monitoring, and automatic feeding systems, the dryer ensures precise control and minimizes manual intervention.
