temperature and humidity with high accuracy, and maintain required
pressure differentials between zones. This integrated control
ensures effective protection against airborne particles and
microorganisms for contamination-sensitive operations. Key Characteristics&Core Functions1. Multi-Stage Air Filtration: A cascading filtration system is employed, progressing from pre-filters (G4/F5) and medium-efficiency filters (F7/F8) to final HEPA/ULPA filters, achieving >99.99% efficiency on sub-micron particles. Continuous monitoring via differential pressure sensors ensures filter integrity and timely maintenance. 2. Precision Airflow & Pressure Management: To maintain cleanliness and directional airflow, these AHUs deliver high air change rates (dozens to hundreds per hour) and utilize advanced CAV/VAV strategies with VFD fans. This enables the establishment and strict maintenance of defined pressure cascades (e.g., +15 Pa to +5 Pa) between zones, preventing cross-contamination. 3. Tight Climate Control: Meeting narrow process tolerances (e.g., ±0.5°C, ±5% RH) necessitates a system capable of deep dehumidification (via cooling coils or desiccant wheels) and precision humidification (using clean steam). A reheat function is essential to correct air temperature post-dehumidification, a significant contributor to system energy use. 4. Robust & Hygienic Construction: The units are built with airtight, leak-preventing casings and feature smooth, non-particulating, corrosion-resistant interior surfaces (e.g., stainless steel) for cleanability. Condensate management is designed to prevent water stagnation and microbial growth. 5. Integrated Energy Recovery: To mitigate high operational energy demands, modern systems incorporate heat recovery devices (such as enthalpy wheels or plate exchangers) to precondition incoming outside air, significantly reducing thermal loads.
