Product Overview ——Energy Cooling Air-cooled AHU Ducted Inlet Fresh Air Conditioner
2000-70000 Airflow
Modular Air Handing UnitA Cleanroom Air Handling Unit is a specialized system engineered to
uphold the critical environmental conditions of a cleanroom. Its
paramount mission is the continuous and precise delivery of air
that complies with stringent cleanliness classifications (e.g., ISO
14644). This is achieved by meticulously regulating temperature and
humidity, while simultaneously enforcing strict pressure
differentials through controlled airflow. The system thereby
establishes a fortified barrier against particulate and microbial
contamination, safeguarding sensitive processes. Key Characteristics&Core Functions
Exceptional Air Filtration Capability Multi-Stage Filtration System: Typically employs three or even four filtration stages. Pre-Filtration: G4/F5 grade, protecting subsequent heat exchangers and
medium-efficiency filters. Medium-Efficiency Filtration: F7/F8 grade, further reducing particulate load and extending the
service life of High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters. High-Efficiency/Ultra-Low Penetration Air Filtration: HEPA or ULPA filters, installed at the AHU's discharge or within the
cleanroom ceiling, are crucial for achieving the required
cleanliness level. They offer filtration efficiency of 99.99% or
higher for particles as small as 0.3 μm or 0.12 μm.
Filter Monitoring: Equipped with differential pressure sensors to monitor filter
resistance and signal replacement time.
Stringent Airflow & Pressure Differential Control High Air Volume, High Air Change Rates: Cleanrooms require far higher air change rates (from dozens to
hundreds per hour) than ordinary spaces to rapidly dilute and
remove internally generated contaminants. Consequently, AHUs must
handle massive airflow volumes with powerful fan motors. Constant Air Volume (CAV) or Variable Air Volume (VAV) Control: To maintain stable pressure differentials, sophisticated airflow
control strategies are used. This often involves Constant Air Volume valves, Variable Air Volume valves, and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) fans to ensure dynamic balance between supply, return, and exhaust
air. Maintaining Pressure Cascades: By precisely controlling the supply air volume to exceed the
return air volume, a positive or negative pressure gradient (e.g.,
+15 Pa, +10 Pa, +5 Pa) is established between different cleanroom
zones (e.g., core area, corridor, gowning room). This prevents
contaminated air from flowing back from lower-classification areas
into higher-classification ones.
Precise Temperature & Humidity Control High-Precision Requirements: Tolerances for temperature and humidity fluctuations are
typically very narrow (e.g., temperature ±0.5°C, humidity ±5% RH)
to meet the process needs of industries like semiconductor
manufacturing and pharmaceuticals. Deep Dehumidification & Humidification: Dehumidification: Often achieved using deep cooling coils (with low-temperature chilled water) or desiccant dehumidifiers to handle both sensible and latent heat loads. Humidification: Clean steam injection or electrode/ electric resistance humidifiers are used to ensure no bacterial growth and provide precise
control.
Reheat Function: Air is often overcooled during deep dehumidification and must be
precisely adjusted to the setpoint via hot water reheat coils or electric reheaters. This is a primary reason for the high energy consumption of
cleanroom AHUs.
Superior Airtightness & Construction Materials Leak-Prevention Design: The unit casing has excellent airtightness to prevent unfiltered
air infiltration. Seams are sealed with gaskets and/or sealant. Smooth, Corrosion-Resistant Interiors: Interior surfaces are typically made of stainless steel or coated
galvanized steel—smooth, without crevices, non-particulating, easy
to clean, and resistant to disinfectants. Non-Stagnant Water Design: Condensate pans have significant slope for proper drainage,
preventing microbial growth.
Energy Efficiency & Heat Recovery Given their enormous energy consumption, modern cleanroom AHUs
often integrate high-efficiency energy recovery devices
(e.g., enthalpy wheels, plate heat exchangers) to precondition outside air, reducing cooling and heating loads—a
key strategy for lowering operational costs.
Products Description
Mixing SectionDetails: Fresh air (OA) and return air (RA) dampers are
typically interlinked and controlled to maintain a
constant total airflow (in constant volume systems). The damper
actuators can be electric, pneumatic, or electronic, receiving
signals from the Building Management System (BMS). Key Parameter: Minimum outside air ratio (typically 15-30%, modulated based
on demand control ventilation or codes).
Filtration SectionFilter Grades (EN/ISO Standards): G3/G4 (Pre-filters): ~80-90% efficiency on ≥5µm particles. Protects equipment. F5-F9 (Medium-efficiency): 40-95% on ≥1µm particles. Standard for commercial IAQ. H10-H14 (HEPA/Sub-HEPA): >95% on ≥0.3µm particles. For cleanrooms, ORs, labs.
Differential Pressure Gauge/Switch: Monitors pressure drop across the filter bank. Alerts when
the filter is loaded and needs replacement—critical for preventive
maintenance.
Coil Section- Construction & Materials:
Tube & Fin: Copper tubes with mechanically expanded aluminum fins. Often
coated with a hydrophilic (water-loving) film to improve condensate
drainage and inhibit microbial growth. Rows/Circuits: Cooling coils are typically 4-8 rows deep. More rows increase
dehumidification capacity. Internal circuits (for water or
refrigerant) ensure even distribution and heat transfer. Drip Pan: Located below the cooling coil. Must be sloped, insulated,
and equipped with a proper P-trap to ensure condensate
drainage and prevent air leakage and microbial contamination.
Humidification Section- Type Details:
Steam Humidification (Isothermal): Most common. Uses clean, dry steam from a central boiler or
self-contained generator, injected via a steam dispersion manifold.
Precise and hygienic. Adiabatic Humidification: Uses high-pressure water nozzles or ultrasonic atomizers.
Cools the air as water evaporates (adiabatic process).
Fan Section- Fan Types:
Forward-Curved Centrifugal Fans: Lower pressure, higher volume. Common in smaller units. Backward-Inclined/Airfoil Centrifugal Fans: Higher efficiency, non-overloading power curve, quieter
operation. Preferred for large, efficient AHUs.
Drive Arrangement: Belt-driven (adjustable, requires maintenance) or
direct-driven (higher efficiency, lower maintenance). Variable Frequency Drive (VFD): Standard on modern AHUs. Modulates fan speed based on duct
static pressure or temperature reset strategies for significant
energy savings in part-load conditions.
