Dual-Color Silicone Potting Compound For High-Power LED LightingsBZ-3801 is a two-component room-temperature-curing
condensation-type silicone potting compound engineered specifically for high-power LED lighting systems, featuring ultra-soft flexibility, balanced working time, and
dual-color options (white/black). With wide temperature tolerance
(-50~180℃) and RoHS compliance, it provides exceptional protection
against thermal stress, vibration, and moisture for high-power LED
drivers, control modules, and heat-sensitive components. As a
condensation-curing product, its cross-linking reaction requires
atmospheric moisture—critical operational note: potted high-power assemblies must not be
hermetically sealed immediately after pouring, as this will trap
moisture and cause incomplete curing, compromising heat dissipation
and long-term reliability.
Key Product Features- Ultra-Soft Thermal Stress Resistance: Cures to a Shore A hardness of 15-30A, offering superior
flexibility to absorb thermal expansion/contraction in high-power
LED systems, preventing component damage from temperature cycling
- Balanced Working Time: Provides a 50±15 minute pot life at 25℃—longer than BZ-3701 for
complex manual operations, yet efficient enough for automated
machine potting, balancing productivity and operational flexibility
- Dual-Process Compatibility: Optimized for both manual potting (with excellent fluidity for
precise application) and automated machine dispensing (consistent
viscosity for stable production lines), supporting diverse
manufacturing workflows
- Dual-Color Options: Available in white (aesthetic appeal for visible components) and
black (light-blocking for heat management in high-power fixtures),
catering to different LED design requirements
- Wide Temperature Stability: Maintains consistent mechanical and electrical properties across
-50℃ to 180℃, ensuring reliable performance in extreme outdoor and
industrial environments

Product Applications
- High-Power Outdoor LED Lighting: Encapsulates drivers and control modules in stadium lights,
high-bay industrial lights, and high-output streetlights where
thermal stress management is critical
- Thermally Intensive LED Fixtures: Ideal for potting high-power LED grow lights, stage lighting, and
UV LED systems that generate significant heat and require flexible
encapsulation to prevent component failure
- Vibration-Prone LED Installations: Suitable for high-power LED lighting in heavy machinery,
transportation vehicles, and outdoor structures subject to constant
movement, where vibration resistance is essential
- Dual-Color LED Design Needs: Provides both white (clean aesthetic for architectural lighting)
and black (light absorption for heat sink integration) options for
high-power LED systems with specific visual or thermal requirements
Critical Curing & Handling Precautions for High-Power
Applications
BZ-3801 utilizes a condensation curing mechanism that depends on ambient moisture for complete
cross-linking—critical for high-power LED performance:
- Avoid Early Hermetic Sealing: Potted high-power assemblies must remain in a well-ventilated
environment with 40%-70% relative humidity for at least 24 hours
before structural sealing. Premature sealing will trap moisture,
leading to incomplete curing, reduced thermal conductivity, and
potential component overheating.
- Thick Section Potting for High-Power Systems: For high-power LED drivers requiring potting thickness >3cm,
use layered pouring with 2-3 hour intervals between layers. The
ultra-soft formulation ensures uniform curing throughout thick
sections, maintaining consistent heat dissipation and flexibility.
- Humidity Control for Reliable Curing: In dry manufacturing environments (<40% RH), extend curing
time by 50% or introduce controlled moisture (e.g., humidifier) to
ensure complete reaction. This is especially important for
high-power systems where curing defects can lead to catastrophic
failures.
Directions for Use
- Pre-potting Preparation: Calibrate scales, prepare potting tools, cleaning tools, check
machine settings, check vacuum pump force, etc.
- Product Pre-treatment: Place product on a level surface or fixture. Remove dust, clean,
degrease, and dry if necessary.
- Accurate Proportioning: Manual operation requires precise mixing according to the
specified ratio and recording. Machine potting requires calibrated
ratios and first-article confirmation is recommended.
- Mixing & Stirring: Manual operation requires thorough stirring or using electric
stirrers to ensure homogeneous mixing. Machine potting requires
sufficient stirring speed, adjust as needed.
- Uniform Potting: Manual operation should be done in small, multiple batches to
ensure uniformity. Machine potting should follow the programmed
path for quantitative dispensing.
- Inspection or Secondary Potting: After potting, visually inspect as needed. Perform touch-up,
bubble removal, or secondary potting if required.
- Curing: Allow the potted and inspected products to cure at room
temperature or with heat assistance (recommended 60°C if needed),
according to product and process requirements.
- Final Product Confirmation: Perform visual inspection and performance testing as required by
the customer.
