Products Description This hot rolled 304H stainless steel rod is a high-temperature optimized grade, adopting professional hot rolling forming technology, which is distinctly different from the cold-drawn conventional 304, low-carbon 304L and elastic 301 series rods mentioned before. Designed specifically for working conditions with continuous high temperature and heavy load, it combines elevated carbon content and stable austenitic structure, delivering outstanding high-temperature strength and creep resistance. Equipped with complete welding, cutting and bending one-stop processing services, it is widely adopted in high-heat industrial facilities and heat-affected building structures. All products are manufactured via high-temperature hot rolling and homogenizing treatment, with thick and solid grain structure, excellent overall rigidity and strong resistance to thermal deformation. It is the preferred raw material for projects that require long-term operation under elevated temperature environments. Unique Material Performance & Core Advantages As a high-carbon variant of 304 stainless steel, 304H is engineered to excel at high-temperature scenarios, which is its biggest differentiation from 304 and 304L. Higher carbon content effectively enhances high-temperature tensile strength and anti-creep property. When exposed to sustained high heat, ordinary stainless steel is prone to softening, creep deformation and strength decline, while 304H can maintain stable mechanical performance for a long time without bending or sagging. Compared with low-carbon 304L that focuses on anti-intergranular corrosion after welding at normal temperature, 304H sacrifices part of low-temperature corrosion resistance to upgrade high-temperature comprehensive performance. It can stably work under 600–900°C long-term operating environment, and resists high-temperature oxidation and surface scaling. Meanwhile, it retains good atmospheric corrosion resistance under normal ambient temperature, adapting to the mixed working state of alternating high temperature and room temperature. In terms of mechanical performance at room temperature, 304H features higher hardness and rigidity than regular 304. It can bear larger static load and mechanical impact, suitable for heavy-duty structural assembly. It belongs to non-magnetic austenitic stainless steel, and will not generate magnetic interference during equipment operation, meeting the usage requirements of precision thermal equipment. Hot Rolling Process Characteristics Different from cold-drawn rods with high surface finish for decoration and precision assembly, our 304H rods adopt hot rolling process as the main forming method. Under high-temperature rolling, the metal structure is fully forged, the internal density is higher, and the combination between grains is tighter. This process makes the rod have better overall toughness and anti-fatigue performance under high temperature, and is not easy to crack or fracture under repeated thermal expansion and contraction. The surface of hot rolled rod presents natural oxide-free hot rolling finish, with thick surface layer and strong wear resistance. It does not need fine polishing for internal and high-temperature parts, which effectively reduces extra processing cost. After rolling, we conduct overall straightness correction and stress relief treatment to eliminate internal stress generated during hot working, ensuring the rod will not twist or deform in subsequent processing and long-term service. Comprehensive Processing Service Capabilities We provide full set of deep processing including cutting, bending and welding, perfectly matching the production and installation demands of high-temperature components. For cutting: We use professional metal cutting equipment to process fixed-size blanks. The incision is flat without burrs, and local high temperature during cutting will not damage the material’s high-temperature performance. For bending: Relying on the good ductility of 304H, it can complete conventional angle bending and arc forming. No cracking occurs at the bending part, and the structural strength remains intact after forming. For welding: The welding performance is excellent. The weld seam has matching high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance with the base metal. No complex post-weld heat treatment is required, which greatly simplifies the production process of high-temperature equipment and on-site assembly work. Adaptability for Working Conditions 304H hot rolled rod has clear targeted working condition positioning. It is not recommended for ultra-low temperature, strong acid and high salt fog corrosive environments, but shows irreplaceable advantages in all kinds of high-temperature scenes. Its thermal stability ensures that the structure will not fail due to temperature changes, and the excellent load-bearing capacity can cope with the weight of large equipment and structural frames. In the process of use, the material has low thermal expansion coefficient, small deformation amplitude when heated, and high assembly precision retention. Even after years of cyclic temperature changes, the overall structure is still firm, avoiding loose assembly and structural hidden dangers caused by thermal deformation.
