It is a flat panel consisting of two thin aluminum sheets bonded to a core (usually polyethylene). The key feature is that the exterior aluminum sheets are coated with a PVDF resin-based paint (typically 70-80% PVDF resin blended with acrylics). PVDF stands for Polyvinylidene Fluoride, a high-performance fluoropolymer.

Structure: The 3-Layer Sandwich

  1. Front & Back Skins: Rolled aluminum coils, usually 0.2mm to 0.5mm thick. The exterior face has a PVDF paint coating.

  2. Core: Most commonly polyethylene (PE) or fire-retardant mineral-filled core (often called "FR" grade). For high-rise buildings, A2-grade non-combustible mineral cores are increasingly mandated by building codes.

  3. Adhesive Bond: A polymer bonding film holds the skins to the core.
