G Type SiC Heating Elements The gun shaped silicon carbide rod is an improved version of a U-shaped silicon carbide rod, which extends a length of 40-60 at one end of the U-shape to support the rod body. This type of rod is mainly used in the glass bottle industry and is used in conjunction with a five segment rod (double heating element equal diameter rod). The five segment rod is used to heat the glass material channel, and the gun rod is used to heat the material basin.
