Raw Material Control
- Resins: Strictly test the type, softening point, molecular weight, and other indicators to ensure they meet the production formula requirements. For example, different application scenarios have specific softening point limits for the resins.
- Pigment Selection: Focus on the weather resistance, coloring power, and dispersibility of the pigments to ensure the color is durable and can be evenly dispersed in the coating. For outdoor thermoplastic coatings, pigments must have good weather resistance.
- Filler Considerations: Test the particle size, oil absorption, etc., of fillers to ensure that they improve the coating’s performance without affecting its overall quality. For example, fillers with appropriate particle size help improve the coating's hardness.
- Additive Verification: Confirm the quality and dosage of various additives such as plasticizers and antioxidants to ensure the stability of the coating during processing and use.
Production Process Monitoring
- Heating and Melting: Precisely control the heating temperature and time to prevent the resin from decomposing due to excessive temperature or from incomplete melting at too low a temperature, which can affect coating performance and application.
- Mixing and Stirring: Ensure the mixing speed and time are appropriate to achieve uniform blending of all ingredients. Avoid issues such as pigment agglomeration or uneven distribution of components.
Finished Product Testing
- Appearance Inspection: Check for lumps, impurities, and ensure the color is uniform and consistent. This ensures the appearance meets quality standards.
- Viscosity Measurement: Ensure the viscosity of the coating is within an appropriate range for ease of application. Coatings that are too thick or too thin are unsuitable for normal use.
- Softening Point Test: Verify that the softening point meets the specified requirements for the product, which is critical for the coating’s heat-melting and film-forming properties during use.
- Adhesion Testing: Ensure that the coating adheres firmly to the substrate surface, preventing peeling or other issues later.
Packaging and Storage Management
- Packaging Materials: Use appropriate, high-quality packaging to prevent leakage, contamination, or moisture absorption of the coating.
- Storage Conditions: Control the storage environment’s temperature and humidity, and store the coating according to specified requirements to maintain its quality and extend its shelf life.
