Durable JGS1 JGS2 UV Fused Silica Achromatic Lenses for Laser
Collimation
Material JGS1 & JGS2 Fused Silica: These lenses are crafted from high-purity synthetic fused silica. JGS1: Offers exceptional UV transparency (185–2500 nm), ideal for deep
UV applications due to low hydroxyl (OH) content and minimal
impurities. JGS2: Features slightly lower UV transmission (220–2500 nm) but remains
cost-effective for applications where extreme UV performance is not
critical.
Durability: Both materials exhibit high thermal stability, chemical
resistance, and mechanical robustness, suitable for harsh
environments.
Key Properties Achromatic Design: Corrects chromatic aberration by combining two optical elements,
ensuring precise focus of multiple wavelengths. UV Transmission: Optimized for ultraviolet (UV) to near-infrared (NIR) spectrum,
enabling high-energy laser compatibility. Thermal Resistance: Low thermal expansion coefficient (≈0.55 x 10⁻⁶/°C) ensures
stability under high-power laser exposure and temperature
fluctuations. Laser Damage Threshold: High resistance to laser-induced damage, critical for high-power
UV laser systems. Surface Quality: Polished to λ/10 surface flatness, minimizing scattering and
ensuring beam integrity.
Function Laser Collimation: Converts divergent laser beams into parallel (collimated) rays,
reducing divergence for precision applications. Chromatic Aberration Correction: Eliminates wavelength-dependent focusing errors, enhancing image
and beam quality.
Applications Laser Systems: Collimation in UV lasers (excimer, Nd:YAG), fiber optics, and
laser diodes. Scientific Research: Spectroscopy, microscopy, and interferometry requiring UV
transparency. Industrial Processing: High-power laser cutting, engraving, and lithography. Medical Devices: UV laser surgery, diagnostics, and ophthalmic equipment. Defense & Aerospace: LIDAR, targeting systems, and UV sensors.
