stronger than spool arch types, as internal pressure is distributed

Long Radius Arch: The long-radius contour prevents sediment
accumulation and creates less turbulence and pressure drop compared
to spool-arch joints.
Reinforcement: The rubber bellow is typically reinforced with
synthetic polyester or nylon tire cord, and sometimes steel wire,
embedded within the rubber layers. This reinforcement increases
pressure capacity and overall durability, distributing stress
evenly.
Floating Flanges: Many single-sphere designs come with floating
metallic flanges (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel) that allow
for easy installation and alignment with mating pipe flanges.
The rubber sealing surface often eliminates the need for additional
gaskets.
