1. Material characteristics

The ductile iron rainwater grille ditch cover is cast with ductile iron QT500-7. The cast iron is spheroidized by a spheroidizing agent, so that the internal structure of the cast iron is more tightly combined, the density is significantly improved, and then it has a series of excellent properties such as high strength and good toughness, and the comprehensive performance is close to that of steel. Its tensile strength ób≥420MPa, yield strength ós≥300MPa, and elongation ≥7%. This combination of high strength and good toughness enables the product to withstand repeated rolling by heavy-loaded vehicles, and it is not easy to break or deform after long-term use, which greatly reduces the probability of safety accidents such as "urban black holes". ​

2. Structural design

Grille design: The grille part is usually designed in a variety of forms, such as the common flat grate type, partial ditch type, combined type, etc., and there are different installation forms and quantity combinations such as single grate, double grate, and multiple grate to meet the drainage needs of different areas. For example, in some main roads with heavy traffic, multi-grid combined rainwater grilles are often used, which can quickly collect rainwater on the road surface and improve drainage efficiency; while in sidewalks or communities, single-grid or double-grid flat-grid grilles are more common, which not only meet drainage requirements but are also relatively economical and practical. The size and distribution of the grille pores have been carefully designed. While ensuring efficient drainage, they can effectively intercept debris such as leaves, garbage, and branches to prevent these debris from entering the rainwater pipes and causing blockages, reducing the workload and cost of later pipe cleaning. ​

Ditch cover design: The ditch cover works closely with the grille to close and protect the ditch. Its size and shape are precisely adapted to the ditch and are firmly installed. Some ditch covers also use special connection designs, such as high-strength bolt connections or hinge designs, which not only enhance the anti-theft performance of the manhole cover, but also reduce the displacement and noise caused by vehicle rolling. At the same time, anti-slip patterns are usually designed on the surface of the manhole cover to further improve the safety of pedestrians walking on rainy days.
