• Four-Way Angulation Control: It translates the mechanical pull of the steering cables from the control handle into precise Up/Down/Left/Right movements, allowing the endoscopist to steer around sharp anatomical turns (like the duodenum).
• Retroflexion Capability: With an impressive upward angulation of 210°, it enables the "U-turn" maneuver (retroflexion) required to inspect the gastric cardia and fundus thoroughly.
• Internal Channel Protection: It acts as a protective conduit for delicate internal components—such as the Light Guide bundles, CCD/CMOS video cables, water/air channels, and the instrument (biopsy) channel—preventing them from kinking or breaking during tight bends.
• Hermetic Sealing (Waterproofing): When properly sealed with its outer rubber sheath, it prevents fluid invasion (biomedical waste, water, or chemical disinfectants) into the inner workings of the endoscope, preventing costly fluid damage.

What are the most common signs of a damaged bending section?

A: You should inspect or service the assembly if you notice any of the following symptoms:

• Reduced Angulation: The scope cannot reach its maximum Up/Down or Left/Right angles.

• Play or Slack in the Knobs: The control knobs feel loose before the bending section actually moves.
