Supporting and guiding optical cables: During OPGW cable installation, stringing pulleys are installed between towers or poles to support the weight of the optical cables and guide them along the predetermined path. This ensures the cables maintain their correct position and orientation during installation, preventing them from dragging, rubbing, or other damage.

Reducing friction: The rolling motion of the pulleys significantly reduces friction between the optical cables and the supporting structure, ensuring smoother cable pulling, lowering traction tension, and reducing tensile stress on the cables, thereby protecting the internal structure of the cables from damage.

Changing cable direction: At corners and tension sections of the cable line, stringing pulleys can change the direction of the cables, enabling diversion and transitions, ensuring the continuity and stability of the cable line.
