Applications
Thanks to its combination of high bulk and antistatic properties, this fiber is mainly used in knitted products:
1. Knitted Apparel
Sweaters / pullovers – replaces or blends with wool to reduce cost and weight while resisting shrinkage.
Scarves, hats, gloves – warm, skin-friendly, and less static-induced dust attraction.
Knitted cardigans/jackets – provides shape retention and a full, three-dimensional look.
2. Sportswear & Functional Knits
Antistatic behavior is especially beneficial in dry environments (e.g., inner layer of winter sportswear), reducing static discomfort.
Can be blended with cotton, viscose, modal, etc., to improve moisture absorption and breathability.
3. Home Knitted Textiles
Knitted blankets, cushion covers – bulk, soft, good color fastness, and UV-resistant.
Winter loungewear, thermal underwear – lightweight, warm, machine washable.
4. Industrial Knitted Fabrics
Automotive interior knitted fabrics (less static dust attraction).
Medical protective garment linings (low static, low allergy risk).
Comparison with Standard Acrylic Fiber
| Aspect | Standard Acrylic | This Product (High-Bulk Antistatic for Knitting) |
|---|---|---|
| Bulkiness | Moderate | High, wool-like effect |
| Antistatic | None or weak | Significant, reduces static during processing & use |
| Knittability | Prone to fuzzing / roller wrapping | Optimized crimp & finish for high-speed knitting |
| Finished fabric hand feel | Somewhat stiff | Soft, full, good resilience |
Recommended Blends & Processing
100% Acrylic – pure high-bulk knitted sweaters, lightweight and warm.
Acrylic/Wool (70/30) – improves strength and pilling resistance, reduces shrinkage.
Acrylic/Viscose (50/50) – enhances moisture absorption for lightweight spring/summer knits.
Processing suggestion – use bulked yarn process (high-shrinkage fiber blended with normal fiber), followed by steam treatment to further increase bulk.
