Low Cost Flexible Graphite Gasket
 
Flexible graphite materials encompass a range of products including rolls, foils, papers, tapes, and strips. These materials are manufactured by subjecting natural flake graphite to chemical intercalation followed by high-temperature exfoliation, resulting in worm-like graphite structures with a density of approximately 0.003g/cm³. The expanded graphite is then calendared into binder-free rolls, offering exceptional purity. Key properties include:

  • Extreme temperature stability (-200°C to +650°C)
  • Superior compression recovery
  • Self-lubricating characteristics
  • Gas/tightness performance
 
These attributes make it ideal for low-pressure sealing applications. Composite materials can be produced by laminating with metal substrates.
