Principle: The traditional method of directly starting a motor
generates a large starting current, usually 4-7 times the rated
current, which can have an impact on the power grid, causing
voltage fluctuations and affecting the normal operation of other
equipment. The frequency converter adopts a soft start method,
which gradually increases the input voltage and frequency of the
motor to make the motor start smoothly, and the starting current
can be controlled within the rated current.
