Nickel Online Water Quality Analyzer
>>Overview Nickel is a silvery-white, hard, and brittle metal that remains
stable in air at room temperature, exhibiting low reactivity. It
reacts readily with nitric acid but slowly with dilute hydrochloric
or sulfuric acids. Nickel occurs naturally in various ores, often
combined with sulfur, arsenic, or antimony, primarily sourced from
minerals like chalcopyrite and pentlandite. Nickel may be present
in wastewater from mining, smelting, alloy production, metal
processing, electroplating, chemical industries, and ceramics/glass
manufacturing. This monitor operates autonomously under long-term unattended continuous operation based on field configurations. It is widely applicable to
industrial pollutant discharge wastewater, industrial process
wastewater, industrial and municipal sewage treatment plants, and
similar environments. Depending on on-site complexity, optional
preprocessing systems can be integrated to ensure reliable testing processes, accurate results, and compliance with diverse operational demands.
>>Principle The product employs the spectrophotometric method for nickel detection. After mixing the water sample with a buffer
agent, nickel is oxidized to higher oxidation states using a strong
oxidizing agent. In the presence of a buffer solution and
indicator, the oxidized nickel ions react with the indicator to
form a colored complex. The monitor detects this color intensity change at specific
wavelengths, converts it into nickel concentration values, and
outputs the results. The amount of colored complex generated
corresponds to the total nickel concentration.
