Copper Online Water Quality Analyzer
>>Overview Copper, a vital metal with extensive applications, is widely used
in alloys, dyes, piping, circuitry, and more. Copper salts can
inhibit the growth of plankton or algae in water. In drinking
water, copper ion concentrations exceeding 1mg/L impart a bitter taste. Consequently, China has classified copper
ions as a key pollutant subject to total emission control. This monitor operates autonomously under long-term unattended continuous operation based on field configurations. It is widely applicable to
industrial wastewater discharge, process wastewater, industrial and
municipal sewage treatment plants, and similar environments.
Depending on on-site complexity, optional preprocessing systems can
be integrated to ensure reliable testing processes, accurate results, and compliance with diverse operational demands.
>>Principle The product employs the spectrophotometric method for copper detection. After mixing the water sample with a buffer
agent, copper is oxidized to its higher oxidation state using a
strong oxidizing agent. In the presence of a buffer solution and
indicator, the oxidized copper ions react with the indicator to
form a colored complex. The monitor detects this color intensity
change at specific wavelengths, converts it into copper
concentration values, and outputs the results. The amount of
colored complex formed is proportional to the total copper
concentration.
