When erecting a 321-type Bailey bridge in mountainous areas, the following points should be noted:

Terrain and foundation treatment
- **Foundation stability**: Mountainous terrain is complex and soil conditions may be unstable. Before erecting a Bailey bridge, it is necessary to ensure that the soil at the bridge seat is solid. If the soil bearing pressure is insufficient, the foundation under the bridge seat must be expanded or reinforced.
- **Repose angle pile setting**: Determine the position of the repose angle pile on the shore. When the slope of the shore is steeper (greater than the repose angle), the position of the repose angle pile must be calculated and set according to the formula.
- **Site requirements**: When erecting a bridge using the cantilever push-pull method, our bank must have an equipment configuration and assembly site with a length not less than 1.5 times the span of the bridge and a width of 8 to 14 meters. The longitudinal slope of the assembly site should not exceed 3%, and the horizontal direction should be roughly horizontal.

Erection and construction safety
- **Bridge span push**: When erecting a bridge using the cantilever push-pull method, the center of gravity of the bridge should always be behind the rock of the push-pull shore to prevent the bridge from overturning. The center of gravity can be ensured by adding several trusses (guide beams) at the front end of the main bridge.
- **Roller setting**: Rollers are set at the marked roller positions, and sample plates should be placed underneath. Only one row of trusses is allowed to pass through each rock, and the distance between the rock and the support plate is about 1.0 meters, and at least not less than 0.75 meters.
- **Safety of construction workers**: Construction workers must wear safety helmets and safety belts, and it is strictly forbidden to work on the shelves after drinking. When using a crane to lift and remove Bailey piers, a special person should be assigned to direct the crane, and it is strictly forbidden for the crane boom to collide with the Bailey beam and its foundation.

Bridge stability and reinforcement
- **Wind-resistant tie rods and diagonal braces**: When the span length of the bridge is less than 30 meters, diagonal braces are installed on the odd-numbered beams, and wind-resistant tie rods are installed on the even-numbered beams; when the span of the bridge is more than 30 meters, diagonal braces and wind-resistant tie rods should be installed on each guide beam.
- **Multi-row truss reinforcement**: For the guide beams of multi-row trusses, support frames and connecting plates must be installed to enhance the stability of the bridge.

Other precautions
- **Bridgehead slats**: The bridge and the access road are connected by bridgehead slats, with no buckle slats in the middle and buckle slats on both sides. Bridge slats and fixed flanges are laid on the slats.
- **Bridge deck system setting**: The bridge deck system can be fully assembled and then pushed out, or part of the bridge deck components can be installed or not installed, and then installed after being pushed into place. During installation, the end of the longitudinal beam should be buckled into the clip on the crossbeam.
