It is installed in the sealing groove to prevent the external leakage of the fluid and the internal leakage between the two bodies. It bears the pressure and temperature during operation and is also corroded by the working fluid. Different materials are suitable for different working conditions, from minus 45 ºC to minus 200 ºC, resistant to high temperature, high pressure and corrosion. Common materials include FKM, EPDM, NBR, etc.
