The application of HDPE geomembrane in water conservancy projects has significant advantages in anti-seepage, corrosion resistance and adaptability to geological changes.

Water reservoir and dam anti-seepage

1. Construction of anti-seepage layer

HDPE geomembrane is used at the bottom of reservoirs and dam structures to effectively prevent leakage and extend service life. For example, when laying at the bottom of a reservoir, it is necessary to combine a protective layer (such as block stone or concrete) to enhance impact resistance.

2. Vertical core wall and slope protection

In dam construction, HDPE geomembrane can be used as a vertical anti-seepage core wall or for slope protection to prevent water erosion and infiltration.

Channel and river anti-seepage

1. Irrigation channel repair

As the bottom anti-seepage layer, HDPE geomembrane can resist water pressure and microbial erosion, and at the same time, combined with a rough surface design to enhance friction and prevent sliding.

Key points of Construction Technology

1. Base surface treatment

The base layer needs to be compacted ≥95%, the surface should be flat without sharp objects, and the slope should be smoothly transitioned to avoid stress concentration.

2. Welding process

Hot melt welding is recommended, the temperature should be controlled at 280-300℃, and the weld strength should reach more than 90% of the parent material. The welder needs to be preheated during low-temperature construction.

3. Laying specifications

Extend from low to high, and the longitudinal joints should be staggered by more than 1m to avoid the corner area. After laying, an inflation test (0.06Mpa pressure) is required to ensure sealing.
