The Mud Vacuum Degasser is a specialized equipment designed to eliminate trapped gases from drilling fluids, ensuring optimal fluid performance during drilling operations. Positioned downstream of the shale shaker, mud cleaner, and mud gas separator—and upstream of hydrocyclones and centrifuges—this unit effectively removes fine residual bubbles that other gas-handling equipment may leave behind.

Working Principle

The Degasser operates by utilizing a vacuum pump to generate a low-pressure environment inside its chamber. Drilling fluid is drawn into the system under atmospheric pressure, where a high-speed rotating impeller mechanically shears and disperses gas bubbles. The released gas is then extracted under vacuum, while the treated fluid continues through the purification process.
