MOLYKOTE G Paste MoS₂ Anti-Seize Assembly Paste for Press Fit
Threaded Connections & Heavy Load Metal Parts Lubrication MOLYKOTE G Paste is a gray-black, NLGI Grade 0–1 molybdenum disulfide (MoS₂) solid lubricant paste manufactured by Molykote (DuPont). It is formulated with high-concentration MoS₂, mineral oil and lithium soap thickener, specifically designed for anti-seize, anti-galling and run-in lubrication of press-fitted and heavy-load metal assemblies Even after the base mineral oil carbonizes above 120°C, the solid MoS₂ content maintains lubricity up to 400°C (up to 1100°C in oxygen-free environment), effectively preventing fretting wear, friction corrosion and cold welding of metal surfaces. Apply a thin, even coat to cleaned/degreased surfaces using a brush, cloth or chamois (stir well before use as MoS₂ may settle). Contains no intentionally added PFAS.
Unlike conventional greases, G Paste contains >60% solid lubricants delivering extreme load-carrying capacity (Falex weld load 14,700 N; four-ball wear scar 0.91 mm @ 392 N). Coefficient of friction in press-fit test is approx. 0.10–0.12, significantly reducing interference-fit assembly force and eliminating stick-slip. Passes copper strip corrosion test (1a @ 100°C/24h). While the base oil service range is -20 to +120°C, solid MoS₂ extends anti-seize protection to 400°C. High density (1.86 g/cm³) ensures tenacious adhesion. Typical applications include — anti-seize and ease-of-disassembly lubrication for bolts, nuts and high-temp flanged threaded connections; press-fit / interference-fit lubrication of shafts into bearing housings or bushings; run-in / break-in lubricant for new equipment and gearboxes; low-speed heavy-load sliding surfaces such as machine tool ways, splines and worms; extreme-pressure lubrication in metalworking (stamping, drawing, tapping); prevention of fretting corrosion and cold welding on static metal joints.
