Introduction:
4-Butylresorcinol, also known as Rucinol, is an active ingredient in many cosmetics. It can inhibit the production of melanin. Specifically, it can inhibit two enzymes necessary for the production of melanin, namely tyrosinase and 5,6-dihydroxyindole-2-carboxylic acid-oxidase.
Uses:
It inhibits the production of melanin and is used for skin whitening.
