Principle of Selection

The following factors shall be taken into consideration of the selection of rubber hose or hose assembly.

Working Environment

1) Ambient temperature: the high ambient temperature will quicken the aging of rubber hose, while the extreme low temperature may reduce the elasticity of hose and make it hard.

2) Atmospheric conditions: either indoor or outdoor, the high-concentration ozone on the outdoor environment and ultraviolet radiation in the sunlight will accelerate the aging of hose.

3) The contact with attacking media, including oil, benzene, strong acid and alkaline or other corrosive chemicals.

Conveyance Medium

1) Category of hose conveyance medium (gas, liquid, solid or mixture of them), solid media are more apt to wear hose than gas and liquid.
