ASTM A312 S31254 SMO 254 Seamless Pipe High Temperature Seawater
What is S31254 material?
NAS 185N (SUS 312L, UNS S31254,SMO 254) is a high corrosion
resistant austenitic stainless steel with a high nickel, high
chromium, high molybdenum alloy design, and provides excellent
corrosion resistance in severe corrosion environments such as high
temperature seawater. 254SMO is an austenitic stainless steel. Due to its high molybdenum
content, it has extremely high resistance to pitting and crevice
corrosion.
SMO 254(UNS S31254) is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel
developed for use in seawater and other aggressive chloride-bearing
media. The steel is characterized by the following properties:
-Excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, PREN ≥42.5*
-High resistance to general corrosion
-High resistance to stress corrosion cracking
-Higher strength than conventional austenitic stainless steels
-Good weldability
