Overview
A stationary carbon steel tubesheet is a component used in heat exchangers, boilers, and other equipment that involves the exchange of heat between fluids or gases. It is typically made of carbon steel, which is a strong and durable material that can withstand high temperatures and pressures. The tubesheet acts as a support structure for the tubes in a heat exchanger, providing a secure attachment point for the tubes and preventing leakage of the fluids or gases being processed. It also helps to transfer heat from one fluid to another by providing a large surface area for heat transfer. Stationary tubesheets are different from floating tubesheets, which allow for differential thermal expansion between the tubes and the shell of the heat exchanger. In a stationary tubesheet, the tubes are fixed in place, and any expansion or contraction of the tubes is accommodated by the shell or other parts of the equipment.
Carbon steel is commonly used in tubesheets because of its high
strength, good thermal conductivity, and resistance to corrosion.
However, it may be susceptible to corrosion in certain operating
conditions, particularly in the presence of corrosive fluids or at
high temperatures. In such cases, additional protective measures
may be necessary, such as coating the tubesheet with a
corrosion-resistant material or using a different material
altogether, such as stainless steel or a specialized alloy.
The most common types of holes experienced in tube sheet dilling are triangular, rotated triangular, square and rotated square. Each hole pattern presents its own dilling challnges. See typical pattern types below:
SA516 Grade 70N are mainly used in welded pressure vessels where improved notch toughness is important.Generally As rolled is ok for rolling pressure vessel steel plate A516 Gr70. However, for improve steel property and toughness, we suggest the end users accept rolling A516 Grade 70 steel plates under Normalized,especially for the steel plates thickness above 40mm.NACE MR-0175 A516 Grade 70 also offered by us with HIC test and SSCC test.
