different types of blind flanges for different applications.
Stainless steel 904L pipe flanges have a minimum tensile strength
of 490MPa and a minimum yield strength of 220MPa. Flanges come in
different sizes ranging from ½" to 48". The pressure rating of the
flange varies by size. These flanges are available in pressure
classes 150 to 2500. 904l stainless steel flanges are available in
different production types such as plate flanges, threaded,
threaded or forged flanges. The surface type of the flange is also
different, such as a flat convex surface and an annular connection
surface. ANSI B16.5 SS 904L Pipe Flanges are used in power
generation, heat exchangers, boilers, chemical, petrochemical, oil
and gas, and petroleum industry applications. Stainless steel 904l flanges are made of unstable austenitic
stainless steel material. The composition of the material consists
of 23% nickel, 19% chromium and carbon, silicon, copper, sulfur,
manganese, phosphorus and 4% molybdenum. Flanges conform to ASTM
A182 and ASTM A240 specifications. ASTM A182 F904L stainless steel
flanges are highly corrosion resistant. They are particularly
resistant to chloride ions, mild acids and oxidation. Therefore,
these flanges can be used in sour water service, seawater, brackish
water and marine applications. ASTM A182 F904L flange definition ASTM A182 is a standard specification for wrought stainless steel
pipe flanges and stainless steel wrought fittings. ASTM 182 is for pressure systems, including flanges, fittings, and
similar parts conforming to a specified size or dimension standard
such as the ASME Code. ASTM A182 F904L Flange is an unstable austenitic stainless steel
with low carbon content. This high-alloy stainless steel has copper
added to improve its resistance to strong reducing acids such as
sulfuric acid. 904L is non-magnetic and has excellent formability,
toughness and weldability. Stainless steel 904L flanges contain many expensive components such
as molybdenum and nickel. Today, most applications using the 904L
grade have been replaced by the lower cost duplex 2205 grade. ASTM A182 F904L flanges are suitable for industrial, construction
and transportation applications.
