Aluminum Skiving Heatsink (with fins)

1. What it is

• Made from one solid aluminum block (usually AL1060, AL6063)
• Fins are cut and bent upward by a skiving machine
• Base and fins are integral, no welding, no soldering, no gluing

• Very low thermal resistance
   
  No contact resistance between base and fins.
• Thin & dense fins possible
   
  Fin thickness: 0.2–1.0 mm
   
  Fin density much higher than extrusion heatsinks.

3. How it cools

1. Heat from device → heatsink base
2. Heat spreads evenly through aluminum
3. Heat transfers to many thin fins
4. Fins release heat to air by convection (natural or fan cooling)

4. Typical structure

• Base: flat, for mounting to heat source
• Fins: vertical, thin, dense, straight
• Surface treatment: anodized black (improves cooling & anti-corrosion)
