Care must, therefore, be exercised not expose the pesistor to thick atmosphere of ammonia, amins, alkali solution, aromatic hydocarbon,ketons, esters, halogenous hydrocarbons, etc.Use of flux:When soldering avoid using water-soluble flux. Otherwise, it might cause an adverse effect on moldingmaterial and metal.Soldering:Saldering operation must be completed in a time as sonn as possible suggested maxinum soldering-iron tiptemperature and allowable time is at 270 for 3 seconds. Avoid wiring and soldering that causes solder to flow out to the top of PC board as shown. A contact failure may occur in the terminal section.Dew condensation: Avoid using the potentiometer where dew or water drops might occur on the surface of the resistor,etc;insulation deterioration or shorting may occur.Prevention of ground noise:Single-unit potentiometers are generally constructed to be resistant to ground noise, butmulti-ganged types, shaft-moving(back and forth)types and car-audio-use types do not have such a feature. For use with high-gain sets, please consult us.Operation at low temperature:To assure smooth rotation of a potentiometer at extremely low temperature, which might be encountered in a car radio or car stereo, special low-temperature grease may be applied to moving parts in the potentiometer upon request.
