TA1 Wire is an industrial pure titanium wire defined in the Chinese
National Standard (GB/T 3620.1), corresponding to ASTM Grade 1
(Gr.1) in the United States and CP Ti Grade 1 in ISO 5832-2. Within
the titanium family, TA1 is an alpha-phase single-phase titanium
alloy, and it is the purest, most ductile, and lowest-strength
grade among industrial pure titanium alloys. Core Advantages and Features- Exceptional Corrosion Resistance: The surface of TA1 easily forms a dense, self-repairing TiO₂
passive film. It exhibits outstanding corrosion resistance in
seawater, chloride solutions, wet chlorine gas, nitric acid, and
various neutral salt solutions. Its performance is significantly
superior to 316L stainless steel, and it is highly resistant to
pitting and crevice corrosion.
- Superior Cold Formability and High Plasticity: TA1 is inherently soft. In the annealed state, its elongation
after fracture can reach over 24%-30%, allowing it to withstand
severe cold deformation. It is highly suitable for complex
cold-working processes such as wire drawing and bending.
- Outstanding Biocompatibility: It is non-toxic, non-magnetic, and non-allergenic. With a low
elastic modulus (approximately half that of steel), it effectively
reduces the "stress shielding" effect, making it one of the most
biocompatible metallic materials for bone tissue and medical
applications.
- Excellent Low-Temperature Toughness: Unlike ordinary steels that tend to embrittle at low
temperatures, TA1 maintains good plasticity and impact toughness
even in cryogenic environments of -196°C and -253°C, without
undergoing a ductile-to-brittle transition.
- Good Weldability: It can be welded using methods such as TIG, MIG, and laser
welding, with the weld strength matching that of the base metal.
However, strict inert gas shielding is required during welding to
prevent embrittlement caused by the infiltration of oxygen and
nitrogen.
